POTD: Some random iPhoneography shots

I have a slightly unusual edition today. I normally post different versions of the same picture every day, but today I have got six different pictures themselves. All these photos were taken with just iPhone and then “apped” up to give a distinctive feeling.

iPhoneography apps by features

Over the last few months, I have accumulated hundreds of iPhone apps for photography. And honestly, it is often confusing to remember which app has which particular features. Every time I have to edit a photograph, I am struggling to determine which is the best app to do the job. And also most of them offer the same features in a slightly different way to each other. So, now I am starting to build a catalog of features that I normally want for my photo editing and list down the corresponding apps that support them. This is just a nascent piece of work at the moment, so keep coming back to see regular updates on the page.

Free noteworthy iPhoneography apps - 22 October 2011

- Squara
This one is for classic camera lovers, who like square format photography. It is from the maker of another excellent app CameraTOY. Recommended to download at the current free price.

- QuickPix
Supposed to be one of the fastest camera app available on iPhone. Purportedly, it takes two shots in a second. It has some good reviews on iPhoneography blog. I just used the app and although the loading time was a bit slow, once started, it is one of the fastest in taking pictures. Also I like the option where I can configure the app to click a picture at startup.

- Photo Tangler Collage Maker
A simple collage maker with a bit different blending style. Not many options or filters though. A sample picture of a collage I just made using this app is attached for reference.
